On Moskenesøya, in Lofoten there is a wealth of hiking opportunities. A may be the thriving tourist lodge Munkebu which was built in 1991. It sits on Djupfjord Heia in Moskenes Municipality 2-3 hour walk from Sørvågen, 450 meters above sea level. A day trip there is great.
In order to get a round trip it's a good idea to start from the cemetery in Moskenesvågen on trail up the mountain to the right of the penstock to Moskenes lake. On the west side of the lake up to the keel. Inward keel to a shelf on the mountainside. Here you can see the Varden trail from Sørvåg lake. it follows you back to the road after visiting Munkebu.
